Gailardia for PC

There's nothing keeping me on it It's OK at best, naztolgia isn't going to cut it for me, it's too small and unrefined for me to fully do anything with or put any attention to, I've put maybe 5 mins at predicting the story, actually no, I took 0.000000001 second at the story, it just too common, if I wanted to play Dragon Quest I would play Dragon Quest. Sorry this isn't even close to the platform where Dragon Quest stands tall and proud above all the want to be RPGs.

Fun 8-bit style JRPG Enjoyed playing this typical retro JRPG, this is my kind of retro game. Can't add much to all the positive reviews. Apparently the bugs have been worked out, not a single problem throughout game play. More than one save slot would have been helpful. The poor translation is good enough to get the info across. It's actually unintentionally humorous at times, sort of like some of the old poorly dubbed oriental MA or SciFi cult classic movies. Finished Gail 1 and starting on Gail 2 now.

Sweet This game is totally nostalgic in the best way possible. I really miss RPGs like this. The grinding, random encounters, etc, it reminds me of Dragon Quest and a little bit of Final Fantasy. Theres a good chance that I will get the next two games as well. Download and enjoy old school goodness!

Worth a play This game is pretty good and definitely worth a play, a few weak points though, the players are always animated to walk, this trips me out a little, not a huge problem, but the mobs are way OP too early into the game. Also, there should be a map, taking ages to find the other towns and the distances are too hard to measure without visual guidance. Overall, it works well enough as an Adventure/Quest type RPG, and is as good as any f2p game ive come across, except the amazing Inotia3.

Great I've downloaded a few of the higher memory usage rpgs and though it doesn't have as many bells and whistles, it ends up being more fun. It is also much easier to just pick up and play. Only probblem sometimes it freezes for a few seconds. Will definitly download 2!!!

Free with no ads is worth 3 stars all on its own. Two more stars for a rpg game done in the old style. Update: I have been playing this for a few days now, and I am totally delighted with this game. A truly classic old school rpg that reminds me of when FF 1 first came out. Well done!

Decent for free Nostalgic gameplay - definitely a DW clone (which isn't a bad thing). 3 stars because it's a little too heavy on grinding, and the translation is horrendous. Most of the NPC text doesn't make any sense, it's like they ran everything through a crappy translation program. Oh well it's free... and still fun in short play sessions.

Actually a game! This is an actual game. Not freemium garbage. Let me explain: a game rewards players for ingenuity, creativity or quick reflexes. Freemium garbage rewards players for logging in, clicking a button or spending excessive amounts of real money for gems. This particular game has smooth classic rpg gameplay for a tiny little download. I highly recommend it.

Was great but... Needs updating for graphics issues badly. Worked fine until the KitKat update to 4.4.4. Now there's a green block around all the characters and the enemies. Fix that and it'll go back to 5 stars. Awesome old school RPG. Brings back fond memories of the early Dragon Warrior and Final Fantasy games.

If you like DW... This is an extremely fun little grinder. Im not too far in but i like the format and the oldschool graphics are sweet as honey. My only complaint is that you can't choose individual targets for offense (attacks, spells, etc...), you can only choose groups of enemies. It seems to play most like DW 2 with one fighter, one fighter/mage, and one full on spell caster. The target system is such a minor issue its not even worth a star. Love love love it and wish there were more games just like it for android.

Fun game and Alice's spells Love this game and for anyone having a problem with Alices spells, she is learning them and they are there... there is a multipage menu for defensive and offensive spells. If you look at her spell menu there are left/right arrows showing that there is more to see. Great game

Has Graphics Issues on Android 5.0 Lollipop All Gailardia games have some graphics issues on Android 5.0 Lollipop, all sprites are surrounded by a green coloured rectangle (probably corresponding to their image dimensions). Otherwise these are okay old school stype RPGs. They could perhaps use a little more polish and spelling/grammar checking but are otherwise nice.

Meh I love the look and feel of old school RPGs, but this game lacks polish. Controls are way too big, action button does too may things (why make it open the menu when there is a menu button?), and menus are awful. Will likely give the sequel a chance since it looks better prepared and not thrown together.

Dragon Quest FTW Very good DQ clone. However, on both my HTC G3 and my Google Nexus 10, PC and NPC sprites, as well as monsters in battle, show up with a solid colored border. Can you fix the transparency effects? Thanks!

Great game Not too easy, not too hard, and free.! You.'ll have to check the walkthrough unless you're very smart, due to the iffy translation but really who cares.? Top game

OK but problems While the game is OK, it does have several problems. The translation isn't all that good. Which wouldn't be so bad if it was just side characters instead of the people who tell you where to go. There also seem to be spacing problems. If this game was tested before bringing it here, it was tested by a monkey.

Needs autosave I'm having fun playing this game, but every time my phone rings I lose all of the progress I've made since my last save. I've actually been so upset that I restarted the game from the beginning. It takes a long time to get useful items like weapons, armor and potions, and the creature powers are disproportionate to the level of the warriors.

Great game! Easy to learn; much like dragon warrior/ff1. 3 heroes, nice difficulty. -1 star for items going into character inventory instead of bag and lack of direction once you get the ship. 'Go explore the world'

Amazing, quite a dejavou game for me. 5 stars Btw what happens if u read the king's private diary thing? I don't remember, and I want to read it but don't remember if it screws me over for nothing

Awsome, addicted Totaly addicted. Presently stuck becouse I can't find the cell key. Controlls alot like clasic Final Fantasy games. Haven't had probloms going right thru all mobs. FUN!

Familiar yet New RPG Shares a lot in common with the original Dragon Warrior (Dragon Quest) for the NES/Famicom. But it is still its own game. If you have fond memories of RPGs on your NES - give this a download, and then go buy the sequels. This game is old school all the way. There is some grinding to do. No shortcuts. You have to earn those levels.

Exactly what I was looking for! Friendly advice: more side quests would help with the "lack of direction" feel I got. Also I feel like the xp balance was a little off by the end of the game, I could get torn to shreds in the final dungeon for average of ~1200-1300 xp or grind right outside for average of ~1000-1200 and barely get touched. Just felt a little pointless. Great overall game tho, so hard to find an rpg this good!

I enjoyed it Old school rpg. Really no story and very bare bones. But I still found myself grinding away for hours just to be strong enough to continue exploring. Nothing innovative but it does what it does well.

Well worth downloading One star for zero unnecessary permissions; one star for small file size; one star for lack of flashing banner ads; and one star for the game being annoying enough that I really want to beat it, but not so I annoying that I quit it. In fact, take an extra star for your game's addictiveness, and another for it being free.

Kind of broken All of the animated character sprites have solid colored squares around them. It makes it pretty ugly looking.

Fun! Grinding is necessary. As your defence increases you become invincible to more and more enemies. It makes grinding easier. Some enemies are a bit ugly but it's still an enjoyable game.

Feel like you're young again! Remember the days of Dragon Warrior (did u get it with your Nintendo Power subscription) & Dragon Warrior II? Play an RPG just like the great 8-bit days! This provided hours of fun for me. A little bit of a grind at some parts for some money for better armor, but I love doing that in games!

Closest thing to Dragon Warrior I have found I'm a huge fan of old school RPGs, especially Dragon Warrior, and this game definitely scratches that itch. It can be a bit tough, with monsters jumping up to somewhat ridiculous boosts over the enemies you were just fighting, but grinding is just part of the classic factor. May pick up the others at some point, after I get the DQ ports available.

I think I'll really enjoy it except.. Green boxes around my characters and mobs turn 8 bit awesomeness to crap. Leveled up to 6 or so and started collecting next town gear but yeah can't get over the green boxes. Shame cause got to imagine easy fix, would buy next title if I could finish this one

A shoe-in for Dragon Quest Gailardia is most certainly an homage to the older Dragon Quest games, and manages to hit that "sweet spot" in difficulty, grind, and game mechanics. It both looks and feels like its inspiration, and it has everything you want in an SNES-style JRPG. Best of all, it is completely free and will keep you entertained for a good 15-20 hours, if not more. I'm looking forward to playing Gailardia 2 and 3 soon, and here's hoping the rest of the games will be localized as well.

Hurrah! Great fun! Easy to cheat with autosaves! Just force-close if you're in trouble or if you're about to die in a difficult battle. Then re-open and you can start from where you left off—withouth penalties!

Broken graphics Immediately upon load, my party walks inside bright green squares. Disappointing ...

Good if you like 2 person parties Due to a programming glitch Alice can't use any new magic other than the first healing spell that she starts out with. Basically this means playing the game with just 2 characters as her physical prowess is pretty bad. Hopefully this issue will be addressed in a future update.

Missing items Would give a 5 but can not licate cell key looked everywhere

Great, but a flashing white screen for magic is sad when you take the time to create different abilities. Battle could be more exciting. A+ otherwise!

This can be a fun game. It is a little unbalanced at times and lacks some polish. It has a ff1 kind of gameplay / gfx. It is worth the dl.

Dragon Quest Fans! This is the game for you. Just like the classic turn based rpg with its level grinding and equipment upgrades. Only reason I didn't give it a five star rating is because there isn't a sort option or an option to put items into your bag in bulk. Having to keep moving everything one by one can get annoying. If your going to make a clone like this, It's good to add those options that gamers are already used to.

SOLID Nice RPG in the spirit of Dragon Warrior(Quest). Minor glitches (music overlapping, characters level unevenly) but otherwise great... and FREE!

DW clone FTW! Just like NES Dragon Warrior games...mostly DW2. This was obviously made by fans of DW, and for fans of DW. I'f you're looking for a good modern RPG, this game is not for you. But if old school is your thing its perfect.

Fun! Good old fashioned RPG, pretty big for such a small download. Doesn't take much memory and it's a very big game. Challenging, too. All in all, AWESOME.

If medieval and royalty RPG are your thing, then this will be a considerably enjoyable experience for you. It also includes an item completion feature and other fun elements to keep you entertained! The English version was created from the original Japanese version, so no balance changes have been made. Hence, leveling up and gold acquisition […]
